Seriously these are the best things ever! When I ran across softcup nearly two years ago. I had been looking for something that I could wear during the night and until I found softcup I had never had that option. I was sick and tired of waking up to such a mess and dreaded getting my period. I'm happy to tell you I don't have to deal with that now! Softcup can be worn up to 12 hours so it's perfect for wearing while you sleep and I haven't had any problems with leakage, I wear a pad just in case.
I've always had issues sleeping while on my period because of leaking but these prevent that completely and give me a full nights rest without waking up to a mess.
Before I started using softcup I watched a few videos on their website softcup.com, And looked through some of the tutorials, I felt ready to give it a try with a pad as back up, just in case.
It seemed awkward the first couple of times using it ( no different then getting used to using tampons). As long as you squeeze it together before you put it in it does fit well regardless of its large size.
